This site is run by one person and collects as little as it can get away with. This page explains what is collected, why, and how to get rid of it.
Who runs this site
Cozy Gamer Tammy (cozygamertammy.com) is operated by Tammy, based in Ontario, Canada. For anything on this page, email hello@cozygamertammy.com.
What gets collected
If you email me: your address and whatever you write. I keep it so I can reply and so I can follow up on corrections. I don’t add it to any mailing list.
If you sign up for the newsletter: your first name and email address, held by my email provider so the newsletter can be sent. You can unsubscribe from any email and your address is removed.
If you just visit: your browser sends standard technical information — IP address, browser and device type, referring page, and which pages you looked at. This is used in aggregate to see which posts people find useful.
I don’t sell personal information, and I don’t share it with anyone except the service providers listed below, who need it to do their job.
Cookies
Cookies are small files a site stores in your browser. This site uses them in three ways.
- Essential cookies keep the site working and remember your cookie choice.
- Analytics cookies tell me which pages are read and how people arrive. This is aggregate, not individual.
- Advertising cookies are set by advertising partners to show and measure ads.
You’ll be asked about non-essential cookies on your first visit, and you can change your mind at any time using the cookie settings on the site. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings, though parts of the site may then behave oddly.
Advertising
This site may display advertising served by third parties, including Google.
- Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your previous visits to this and other websites.
- Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visits here and elsewhere.
- You can opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings, or opt out of third-party vendors’ use of cookies at aboutads.info.
- Advertising partners may collect information themselves under their own privacy policies, which I don’t control.
Affiliate links
Some links here are affiliate links. Clicking one may set a cookie from that retailer so a purchase can be attributed to this site. That retailer’s privacy policy governs what they collect. I never see your payment details, your address, or what else you bought. Full detail on the Affiliate Disclosure page.
Analytics
I use web analytics to understand traffic in aggregate: which posts are read, roughly where readers come from, and which devices they use. I don’t use it to identify individuals, and I don’t try to.
Service providers
The site runs on hosting, an email newsletter platform, an analytics provider, and where advertising is displayed, advertising networks. Each processes data under its own privacy policy. I choose providers that let readers opt out.
Your rights
Wherever you live, you can ask me what I hold about you, ask for it to be corrected, or ask for it to be deleted. If you’re in the UK or EU you have these rights under GDPR; in California under the CCPA; in Canada under PIPEDA. In practice I’ll do the same thing regardless of where you are: email hello@cozygamertammy.com and I’ll sort it out.
Newsletter unsubscribes are instant — the link is at the bottom of every email.
Children
This site isn’t directed at children under 13 and I don’t knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has sent me information, email me and I’ll delete it.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it. Material changes will be noted on the site.
